Divine
Mother
Silently I call and in the still
And pain-filled night aware of your reply
There surges from the deepest seat of will
A gratitude that shall not fail nor die.
No breaking sun through dense and storm-dark c loud
Could match the light I saw within your eyes,
Approaching you the holy, vain and proud
Knelt down to kiss your feet then slowly rise
Into a new-found vision and a vast
Experience of self and brotherhood.
Some left in tears and all in silence passed
Moved by your smile and all for which you stood.
